Powdered Metal Process

1. Compacting/molding

Molding involves blending finely powdered metal, whether a single metal or alloy, with a specialized lubricant. The resulting mixture is placed into compaction presses, boasting an impressive range of capacities from 15 tons to 200 tons. These precision-engineered machines ensure optimal density and shape consistency, allowing us to create reliable powder metal bearings and spacers that meet the highest industry standards.

2. Sintering

The sintering phase is a pivotal stage in the process where properties are developed for your components. Any lubricant is removed while the application of heat creates a bonding environment that fosters the formation of a porous aggregate. Throughout the process, components gain strength and build resistance against corrosion, ensuring their longevity and reliability. Sintering lines are optimized for bronze and iron production.

3. Sizing

In this highly automated post sintering process, parts are crafted to their correct size to achieve optimal fit, function, and performance.

4. Oil impregnation

Oil impregnation employs vacuum-sealed chambers to fully submerge parts in oil. Through this method, the oil is absorbed into each part, creating a self-lubricated bearing with rust prevention properties. Based on the application, oil grades are tailored to product requirements.

Quality is our top priority. All quality control measures are performed before presses start, throughout each step of the manufacturing process, and in a final inspection for each unique customer product before packaging.
